Leave, Cleave, & Pray
This year my husband, Jeremy, has been so diligent in doing family morning devotions. We were reading from Ephesians.
Ephesians 5:31
As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
In our family we talk a lot about Dad and Mom being one. I mean we talk about it all the time. This verse once again was a chance for us to talk about it. We talked about leaving your mom and dad and sticking to you spouse (husband or wife). An example of doing so is not going straight away to your parents to get counsel, but talk over a situation with your spouse first. Elliot said he understood all that, but asked, “But shouldn’t we pray first?”
Uh, ya! My son preaching to his parents. It made me laugh. So yes, leave, cleave, and pray. I need to remember that.
